RF Microneedling in Orange County, California

INTENSIF MICRONEEDLING WITH RADIOFREQUENCY

Orange County RF Microneedling Treatments

When you think of the most advanced, safe, and effective cosmetic treatments available, think Total Dermatology in Orange County. Intensif RF Microneedling is one of our innovative new technologies that use the power of radiofrequency and collagen induction to keep your body producing the key components you need for beautiful, healthy skin. At Total Dermatology, we strive to deliver the best RF Microneedling Irvine has to offer.

What is
RF Microneedling?

Intensif Microneedling with Radio Frequency takes microneedling to a new realm. “It’s like regular microneedling on steroids.”

Microneedling overcomes many of the challenges of non surgical skin correction since it can be used on any and every skin type. Ethnic skin is sensitive skin and often hyper-reactive to lasers, making non-laser treatment choices more important.Microneedling has filled an important gap because it lets us get the results you want with a much lower risk of pigmentation response. Adding radio frequency means you get even better outcomes more quickly.

THE POWER OF LITTLE GOLD NEEDLES

EndyMed’s Intensif microneedling hand-piece works by delivering short pulses of RF energy through an array of 25 sterilized, gold plated microneedles. The RF energy heats at depths that provide cumulative and ongoing benefits.

ON-THE-SPOT CUSTOMIZATION IS KEY

Customizing treatments for each patient’s needs is critical.

The Intensif gives Dr. Pilest complete control over the course of the treatment, providing maximum results for each of our Irvine RF Microneedling patients, regardless of skin type or skin color, skin thickness, or skin condition. Because needle depth is critical to the effectiveness (and safety), the system’s one-touch adjustment capability creates an incredibly precise delivery of heat to tissue levels where it is needed. Particularly effective for Acne Scarring, Intensif treatment’s on-the-spot needle depth option can access scars of any depth with sufficient heat delivery where needed and less depth in highly sensitive areas.

WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?*

smoother, tighter, and more vital

Treated skin goes through a process of improvements via new collagen formation. For up to eight months after the last treatment, the treated skin will become smoother, tighter, and more vital. As most of the energy is delivered directly into the inner layer of the skin, our Orange County RF Microneedling patients will experience minimal downtime and may resume normal activities immediately.

MAJOR ADVANTAGES

  • Power-boosts the effects of microneedling
  • Offers a LEAP in Acne Scar treatment
  • Safely treats all skin tones and color depths

Will RF Microneedling hurt?

Microneedling is a non-surgical procedure, so only a minor level of discomfort is possible during your treatment. Usually, a topical numbing agent is applied and the microneedles just create tiny punctures in the skin, causing only minor pain at worst. A slight warming sensation is common with the addition of RF energy, but this can be counteracted with vibration and/or cooling devices.

What are the risks of Microneedling?

Treatments with microneedling and RF are considered very safe. Microneedling with RF is suitable for use with all skin types and skin tones. Longer-lasting complications are rare, but they can include:

  • Redness
  • Warmth
  • Itchiness
  • Tightness
  • Dry skin
  • Discoloration (hypopigmentation)

Prior to your treatment, your aesthetic specialist will discuss with you all of the possible risks. We at Total Dermatology consider your feeling of comfort and safety extremely important throughout your process and we strive to deliver the best RF Microneedling Orange County has to offer.

WHAT IS POST-TREATMENT RECOVERY LIKE?*

Depending on the treatment levels and aggressiveness, you’ll experience varying levels of redness. Acne Scarring requires more energy so it will incur more redness and some levels of spot crusting. Lighter treatments for surface wrinkling may only mean you have some redness for a day. Some swelling can be expected, but this again is predicated upon the treatment levels.

INTENSIF’S ADVANTAGES OVER OTHER RF MICRONEEDLING DEVICES

The Intensif’s unique needles require less passes per treatment, for shorter treatment times and greater patient comfort, and provide quick treatment recovery times, faster than any other device on the market, with no bleeding or bruising.

RF MicroneedlingFrequently Asked Questions

Your expense will vary based on the extent of your treatment plan. If your plan calls for a larger targeted area, the cost will generally be higher. For many patients, more than one session is required to achieve desired results. We will present you with a treatment plan during your consultation that factors in your needs and budget.

There are several treatments that can provide results similar to microneedling. There are advantages and disadvantages with each technique, so you should consult with your cosmetic care provider to determine which approach fits your needs and goals the best.

  • Radiofrequency therapy. High-intensity radiofrequency (RF) energy is used to gently heat sub-surface skin layers. This helps stimulate collagen production, which smoothes and tightens skin. Can be coupled with microneedling for enhanced results.
  • Laser skin resurfacing. Laser skin resurfacing uses precisely targeted intense light pulses to safely remove the outer layer of dead or damaged skin. This promotes healing with new, healthy skin cells and can also lessen or eliminate the appearance of skin spots or scars.
  • Dermabrasion. This technique may be mechanical or chemical. In the mechanical application, an abrasive material is applied to the skin and a scrubbing device is employed to remove the damaged surface layer of skin. Chemical dermabrasion functions similarly but uses a medical-grade chemical cocktail to remove dead and damaged skin cells. The body’s natural healing process then takes over to produce healthy skin that resists wrinkles and has a smooth, firm tone.
  • Dermal fillers. Safe, bioidentical compounds are injected into the skin, filling in creases, sunken spots, and scars while also promoting healthy skin. These can also be used to plump lips and fill out features.
  • Neuromodulators. Naturally-derived chemicals are used to strategically immobilize the wrinkle-causing muscles under the skin. Results of wrinkle reduction and smooth skin are virtually immediate and can last for several months.

A course of treatment is typically three to five sessions, depending on the patient. Treatments are given every four weeks for best results. This time interval is selected as it maintains the skin in “active” mode that most easily builds results upon the prior treatment. Intensif micro needling can also work well with other complementary services. Dr. Pilest notes the procedure works particularly well with PRP (platelet rich plasma).
