Glycolic Peel

What is a Glycolic Peel?

At Total Dermatology, we use a 35% compound glycolic peel to help patients achieve their ideal results, like smoother, younger, and firmer-looking skin. Our peel can be surprisingly effective and even in the face of today’s lasers, often they can provide near-same levels of improvement for a wide variety of skin aging and skin problems.

While glycolic peels come in a wide range of concentrations, we feel confident that our 35% compound peel can help most patients address their biggest complexion issues, like aging skin, hyperpigmentation, acne scars, and more.

Do You Have Uneven Skin Tone and Hyperpigmentation?

Are wrinkles and fine lines making you feel less than impressed with your complexion?
If that’s the case, it might be time to introduce yourself to our glycolic peel – an innovative skin-enhancing treatment that doesn’t require any downtime or recovery to get beautiful skin!

How Does a Glycolic Peel Work?

Glycolic acid, a natural constituent of sugar cane, exfoliates the skin by,

    • Enhancing cell turnover,
    • Evens the distribution of pigmentation,
    • Refines the appearance of pore size and
    • Helps smooth the look of fine lines and wrinkles.

Within the dermis, this AHA increases the synthesis of glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) and collagen fibers, all of which can help skin appear firmer and younger. At Total Dermatology, we use a 35% generic compound glycolic peel, which delivers optimal efficacy at an ideal pH and concentration. That means our peel minimizes redness and irritation, so you can get results faster without experiencing as much downtime.

What Results Will I See?*

Results largely depend on the patient and the type of glycolic acid peel that’s been selected, but most clients can usually expect to see results within a few after a set number of peels (usually 3 to 5 peels, spaced 4 weeks apart). These results include clear skin, a radiant complexion, less visible pores, an evener skin tone, and more!

Is There Any Downtime?

While there’s no recovery time associated with a glycolic peel, clients should expect to experience some redness and slight swelling for the first few days after treatment. Some clients may even experience mild flaking for about 5 to 7 days, depending on the strength of the peel.
