He is both Premier Provider and Medical Education Faculty for Radiesse. Premier Providers refers to a select group of experienced providers who have achieved an exceptional level of Radiesse experience and Medical Education Faculty refers to physician leaders in the education and practice of facial aesthetics who are expert Radiesse injectors in a variety of aesthetic applications
What is
Radiesse?
Radiesse
( previously known as Radiance ) is one of the longest-lasting
injectable implants. Because of it's components and
duration, Radiesse is more aptly referred to as an implant
rather than a filler. It is used for soft tissue augmentation in
the correction of deep facial folds and creases and restoration
of volume loss in hollow facial areas. Radiess has also become an alternative to rhinoplasty for nose reshaping (More information).
Because it has lengthy duration and is easily shaped it is perfect injectable product for use in the nose and cheek area. An effective cheek augmentation implant-alternative, when injected orally, the results are smooth without typical bruising. Intra-Oral Radiesse
The tiny
microspheres provide a scaffolding into which the body's own
tissue can grow and maintain the implant in place.

Before and After Photos of Total Dermatology Patients (Side by Side)
Radiesse
has proven to be a very versatile facial contouring product and
has demonstrated durable augmentation in areas such as chin and
cheek where a larger volume is required. It maintains a soft,
natural feel and takes on the characteristics of the surrounding
skin tissue.
Dr. Pilest has found
Radiesse to be particularly well-suited for long-lasting
correction of deep nasolabial folds. Results typically last 1 -
2 years.
Dr. Pilest is one of only 86 physicians throughout the
country who serve as a member of the Medical Education Faculty
for Radiesse. As a specially selected MEF, he is responsible for
training other physicians in the use of Bioform's Radiesse
long-term injectible product.
Latest Technique July 2007 - Intra-Oral Bruise-Free Pain-Free Injections
Using state-of-the-art injection techniques,
Dr. Pilest is perfoming Radiesse corrections intra orally.
Nasolabial folds, cheek augmentation and the previously difficult correction of
under-eye hollows are now invisibly made by injecting from inside the mouth.
First you will receive an oral anesthetic block (as you would from the dentist).
Injections of your Radiesse are then painless, with no brusing and no surface needle marks.
There are no tell-tale signs to indicate you have had a cosmetic treatment.
You will simply look better and more youthful. One added plus of the cheek augmentive injections is the reduction of nasolabial folds as the skin is "lifted".
Ask Dr. Pilest if intra-oral injection of Radiesse is indicated for your needs.

Radiesse was used for this patient to provide a subtle enhancement of the cheekbone, softening of the nasolabial fold and a minor "adjustment" to the prejowl area.
Dr. Pilest urges patients who are looking into the longer term filler products to be particularly vigilant in selecting a physician.
"The injection technique with this material is critically important. Respect these fillers, they do not readily forgive a mistake." Elson, M., MD Advances in Healthy Aging

I would like to thank you for the opportunity to learn
more about Radiesse. Dr. Pilest was able to provide me
with advanced and personalized training. I do not think
I can get this type of experience in any other course.
Thank you,
Dr. S.Figueroa

Radiesse consists
of calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres suspended in gel
(carboxymethylcellulose). Because calcium hydroxylapatite is a
normal constituent of bone, it should not elicit a chronic
inflammatory or immune response. Additionally, Radiesse does not
require allergy testing. Radiesse is a safe, effective and
non-surgical treatment, which provides immediate smoothing out
of wrinkles and most scars.
The microspheres
of CaHA have been shown to last up to seven years clinically.
Radiesse should provide a long lasting correction, however
individual results may vary, affected by age, skin type,
lifestyle and muscle activity.
